“Unconditional Giving Creates Happiness for Both the Giver and the Receiver.”
From a humble beginning with Red Bull Beverage Company Limited’s noble intention of sharing for the educationally underprivileged rural children, the Blackboard and Red Bull Project was initiated.
The genesis of the Blackboard and Red Bull Project began when a group of Thammasat University students organized a volunteer team for hilltribe development as part of their extracurricular activity. This volunteer team came up with a school building construction project for children at Ban Sarn Kuay, Pha Chang Noi, Pong, Phayao province – with the aim of creating a sturdy and permanent school building for students in the area. The project was proposed to Red Bull Beverage Company Limited for financial support, and received cooperation from the Red Bull Jungle Club (RBJ) – a significant force that made this project a reality.
‘Blackboard and Red Bull’ is a project that provides funds for students in Thailand to organize and operate volunteer development camps. This fund was established by the Red Bull Beverage Company Limited 2001, encouraging students to propose projects to bring educational opportunities to any area throughout Thailand – be it in the form of the construction of school buildings, canteens, libraries, or multi-purpose buildings. Each of the 10 winning projects is entitled to 100,000 Baht in financial support, valued at 1 million Baht in total.
Foreseeing the benefits of community development, Red Bull Beverage Company Limited has therefore supported the Blackboard and Red Bull Project on a continuous basis. Under this project, students from various institutions, whose projects win financial support, have played a significant part in strengthening small communities, providing education for underprivileged students, and developing a better well-being for them. As its success depends on cooperation from various parties – especially from the students; the project aims to cultivate the new generation of unconditional giving – in order to make Thailand a better “Sharing Society”.
