TCP Group is joining forces to help Thailand pull through the ongoing Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis by providing alternative face masks (fabric face masks) to medical staff at Chulalongkorn Hospital, other hospitals in need across the country, and the general public. The company has set aside 120,000 masks for initial distribution to ease shortages and help the country during this time of crisis.

Mr. Saravoot Yoovidhya, Chief Executive Officer of TCP Group, says: “The COVID-19 virus, which has been spreading quickly and was recently declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), has boosted awareness and made everyone concerned about taking better care of public and personal health. We understand that this is a tough time for Thailand. This is why TCP Group is helping to fight the virus by providing medical staff with face masks which have been especially produced to prevent the spread of the disease. The group aims to ensure that medical institutes have adequate supplies, so that medical personnel are protected while performing their duties. TCP Group will also help alleviate the shortage of masks among the general public. We hope these efforts will ease shortages and help us all pull through this crisis as soon and as safely as possible.”

The alternative masks are made of Perma’s anti-bacterial textile produced with exclusive Nano Zinc Oxide Technology. The material has been found to be durable, with tests conducted by the Thailand Textile Institute showing that the fabric can be washed more than 100 times. Masks provided to medical personnel will have an additional filter to prevent secretion or leakage of moisture while providing the highest level of protection. The company will first donate a total of 100,000 masks to Chulalongkorn Hospital and other medical institutes. 20,000 masks will then be produced and distributed to the general public nationwide.

With support and collaboration, TCP Group hopes to play a part in alleviating the problem of face mask shortages and helping curb the spread of COVID-19. TCP Group is also calling on other sectors to join forces in the drive to help Thailand pull through this crisis as quickly as possible.
