Growth in China Through “Red Bull,” the Energy Drink Brand That Has Resonated with Chinese Consumers for Over 30 Years
TCP Group, the owner of the “Red Bull” brand in China - known to Chinese consumers as “Hong Niu” - entered the Chinese market in 1993. As a pioneer, the company played a pivotal role in popularizing energy drinks in China and has driven the market’s growth for more than three decades, beginning with the establishment of its first Red Bull factory in Hainan and continuously expanding ever since. Today, Red Bull stands as the most popular energy drink brand in China and has been recognized as the fastest-growing brand in the market. This success is the result of a steadfast commitment to quality and taste, as well as trailblazing innovations such as introducing the first Red Bull product in a PET bottle in China. The brand has also strengthened its connection with consumers by integrating into local culture. Most recently, TCP Group hosted the “Very Thai – Dian Feng Music Festival 2025” for the third consecutive year, celebrating 50 years of Sino-Thai diplomatic relations by bringing Thai artists and contemporary cultural experiences to Chinese audiences. Additionally, TCP Group owns more than 2,000 trademarks across 72 markets around the world, 340 of which are registered in China, underscoring the company’s modern brand image, strong alignment with new-generation lifestyles, and its reinforced leadership in China’s energy drink market.

TCP Group remains committed to long-term investment in China. In 2020, TCP Group established its Beijing office to further strengthen its business operations in the Chinese market. Over the past five years, TCP Group has invested more than 21 billion baht. In 2023, it launched a new Red Bull production base in Sichuan, equipped with fully automated high-speed manufacturing technology and a three-dimensional automated warehouse, with a maximum production capacity of 1.44 billion cans per year. In the same year, TCP Group also set up its third production facility in the Guangxi ASEAN Economic and Technological Development Zone, located in Guangxi, which began operations in early 2025. These investments reflect TCP Group’s strong commitment to sustainable growth and underscore the tangible role of the Thai private sector in advancing Sino-Thai relations.
Therefore, TCP Group’s participation in the “Thailand-China Cooperation Expo 2025” is not only a celebration of the relationship between two countries, but also a platform to deepen friendship and economic cooperation between Thailand and China. It further reaffirms TCP Group’s role as a key driver in creating new opportunities, strengthening collaboration, and promoting the sustainable growth of bilateral relations into the future.
